Recognized around the world as laden with ritual and meaning that dates back thousands of years, tea is a growing market and the tea kettle’s design can enhance the enjoyment of tea drinking by vesting it with that meaning and ritual, as well as optimizing the function. World Kitchen seeks to celebrate these qualities and explore the adaptation of its materials by sponsoring a design competition. The goal of the competition is to spur innovative thinking and problem solving that will demonstrate the role of design as a core value for the housewares industry. This contest is open to individuals who are at least 18 years of age or the age of majority in their jurisdiction of residence, whichever is older.
deadline: January 06, 2009 - first prize: 5,000 (USD)
